Collection: Killdeer

Most of the time the Killdeer is seen away from the water like on soccer pitches and parking lots. The Killdeer is a great actor, using the broken-wing technique to lure would-be predators away from the nest. While flying you should be able to hear their tell-tale 'killdeer' call. Since Killdeer do not seem to mind being near humans, they are vulnerable to pesticides put on grass.
